Diary 4 Barbecuing and Accidents

My husband is not good at starting the fire. He's spent much on it. We were hungry. I helped him finally. He's told me it was easy. I doubted it. I said even my friends spent lots of time starting the fire. I didn't know he just exaggerated. I let him do it but finally I took the BBQ tools from him when it was getting a little dark.

My daughter was patient to see us starting the fire and listen to music from the neighbor. She hummed. She also told me she couldn't hear the music when my husband and I were talking about the music.

I wanted to BBQ as quickly as we could. My husband is a slow man. I lost my patience and pushed him to hurry up and cover all the surface of the net with raw food. The neighbors were enjoying their food while we were quite hungry.

We barbecued and ate at the same time. We couldn't eat them all. The food was a little too much. My daughter was full and she peed and poohed on her underwear twice. My husband took her to take a shower and let her put on the diaper to prevent more accidents. All underwears I've brought were wet.

Diary 3 Back from Kenting

We're back from Kenting. A trip for two days are over. We have lots of fun, especially our kids.

We drove to Kenting for 3 hours or so on the first day. We got up earlier than usually in case the traffic would be much heavier on holidays and camping sites were full of tent. We prepared our son's by-food in the morning before we got off. Kids were still sleepy. It's okay. We can take them downstairs while they are sleeping and they can sleep more during the driving.

We were almost near our destination, Chingshan(青山) camping site around 1. We had lunch at Zhechan(車城). It cost us $250 for 2 noodles, 1 soup, 1 plate of vegetables and a small treat. How expensive. Our son also finished his lunch there.

The traffic was smooth. We arrived the camping site around 2. There were a lot of people. The camp-keeper introduced their environment when it occurred to me that we might run into the wrong site because two camping sites are side by side and the runners are brothers. My site should be Chingshan, not Chingliang. Chingshan seemed to be full while Chingliang still had some space. We decided to spend an overnight at Chingliang.

My husband has little experience for camping. I also forgot how to build a tent. We discussed a lot and changed the site three times because it was raining. Kids were excited. My son practiced standing more there. There was a meadow for kids to run and crawl.

After we finished setting up the tent, we went to the nearby beach, 船帆石. It was still raining and the wind was a little strong. I bought two umbrellas from 7-11. My daughter was excited to go to the beach and eager to  bathe herself in the sea. However, we didn't wear the swimming suits and bring the swimming tools. The sea was clear and beautiful. Lots of people were in the water. My daughter enjoyed the beach so much that she pulled me away. I was afraid that I couldn't protect her so I stopped her from going deeper.

Diary 2 Prepare for the Camping

I'm excited. We're going for a camping in Kenting tomorrow. I have been busy for a couple of days and finally had some time to do the shopping after my daughter finished her arts class.

I took two kids to the traditional market and bought some vegetables, chicken and noodles. We also bought the BBQ equipment, some meat(pork, steak), drinks in Carrefour in the evening. We spent a lot of money. I even thought we bought so much that we couldn't eat them all.

My husband has two days off since tomorrow. It's Moon Festival on Monday. Barbecuing seems the only way to celebrate the union with family. I don't mean to celebrate the holiday. It's just an coincidence. I just want my family to get away.

I'm looking forward to the camping and barbecuing with my kids. It's my son's first camping. I hope he will sleep well in the tent. God blesses my family.

Diary 1 A Good Start

My daughter goes to an English class every week. I used to be an English major. It's a shame I've found I can't talk in English with my little one's teacher. It's kind of warning. I am too lazy while I am busy taking care of my kids. I've seen a couple of moms speaking English to the teacher. But I didn't. I know I can practice English with her. I can try. It's a chance. Maybe I should force myself to speak even one sentence each time we meet. That's why I start to write an English diary, to say something in English even though it's late and I can't talk when my family are sleeping beside me. But it's a good start, right?
